Factory stereo unlock code(s)?

Post by mcgvector »

Picked up 2006 Vibe with factory 6 disc changer & 7 speakers. I've been told that if I ever experience a dead battery, I'll be SOL without a "lockout code".If original owner never changed factory default, what would it be?How to verify? How to change/program?Any help greatly appreciated. I tend to keep cars a LOONG time, and will likely need to replace battery at some time.Thanks,Frankmcgvector@gmail.com

Welcome to GenVibe. I don't think you have anything to worry about with lockout codes. I have had the battery disconnected several times on my 2006 Vibe and the radio has never locked. I do not think the Delco Theft Lock system is built into our radios.

^ right on the money!None of the radios have any sort of security codes, just an LED that goes blinky blinky to make would-be thieves think the radio has some sort of security. No worries when disconnecting the battery!
