Anyone thought about MSD on their Vibe?

Post by MiamiVibe »

I have a friend who has a Toyota MR2, and he insist that I should get MSD for the Vibe. What are your thoughts on this? How much does it help? Bang for buck?

what year mr2? the general consensus over on newcelica seems to be that no one can get one to work right on our cars the last generation 1zz and 2zz.some even called msd to find out they didnt work. something about transitorized coils. only thing i found that may work is the ludicriously expensive hks twin power. i say may because some sites list the new celica as a application other sites only list celicas up to 99. if your friend got one to work on a 1zz-fe let us know how he did it
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

im not really sure you need to upgrade the ignition on these much, if i remember from past posts on here a long time ago the direct coil ignition systems that we have can pretty much handle whatever you throw at em. unless you are goin with all new internals for a turbo and tons of boost where you are going to need the better spark advance and other schtuff i would stick with the stock system.yogi

My opinion is that it is a waste of money on newer cars as their ignition systems are more than sufficient.

I agree. The new ignition systems with a coil for each plug are very good. I see no need for an MSD ignition. My Nova, on the other hand, does have an complete MSD ignition system and it is awesome.
