So I found someone to do my window tint. The back 5 windows for a good price!! And I just wanted to know what is the best Percent tint to go with. I'm thinking 35% or 20%? LMK what you like pros and cons. Thanks Gretch
depends on if you want it to match or not, can go 35% all around, or 20% all around, up here it's different cause 35% is the legal limit for the front windows, even tho i've gone 20% all around and have yet to have any problems/issues with cops here. any tint is good for a number of reasons, keeps the car cooler in the summer, protects all the plastic in the car from the uv rays of the sun, making them last longer and stuff, theirs the privacy issue that im sure alot of people get tint because, and if you ever got into an accident, it holds the glass together more so it wont shatter into youtheres plenty of pros about tint..only con i can think of is if you like to see out the windows at night, i know sometimes it's hard to see things out through the back of the window or the sides at night while backing up.
If you don't want any problems with cops in MN... I would suggest 35 front 20 rear... (that's what mine has, I don't know if you looked to closely at it at the meet)
The legal tint in MN is 50%. I am at 35% all around (7 windows) and think it is perfect. Dark enough for the daytime but not too dark for nighttime. You can see my pics in my GenVibe Garage: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=22889

I believe the 50 rule is for passenger cars...for Cross over's SUV's ect, I believe technically only the front windows need to be 50... I think the rest could be as dark as you want...If you look on your window sticker (that came with the car) I believe it calls our vibes some kind of wagon.. so it's not considered a "passenger car"I could just be blowing smoke out my..tailpipe.. but I haven't had a single problem with tint:35/20
Yes MN law states that you have to be 50% all around in "passanger cars" BUT Suv's, trucks, and WAGON's. You can do whatever in back but the front two have to be 50%. Yes a vibe is a sport wagon as they call it!!!! So after a heavy search of peoples two cents. I'm going with 35% in the back 5 windows. Oh and so is the otherhalf (king neptune)!!!Gretch I will post pic's next weekend of them both.
ive had problems with my tint but only because your not aloud to have any after market tint in RI unless its 70%.....i had to take mine off an go to court
I've got 35% all around and it's great, it's never too dark even at night.

I've always been a big fan of the keep it the same. So instead of doing some 35 and others 20, just pick one and stick with it. On my Civic I had 35% graphite tints all around. In CT you could do the rear 20% but the others were 35. I liked the results, it was light enough to sorta see in during the day and at night looked a lot darker than it was.
a little late but ill chime in, i did, 35% on the front and 5% on the back. I can't see anythign out my back windows at night except headlight, which isn't safe. I hate even backign out of my driveway because I can not see well. If I had it to do over again I would go 20% or so on all of them
