My wife has a 94 Olds Cutlass Supreme (don't laugh, it's actually pretty nice ). It has about 125,000 miles on it. Any recommendations when it comes to using oil? An extended mileage oil? Synthetic?
at our shop (MN) we use 5w 30 all year long... we mainly work on older cars, usually at least 5 years old, but most of them are 10 & older. I put Syn in my bros 90 Buick Century, but that's cause he get's the oil super cheap...As for the high milage oils... I really haven't done any research on them...on my civic with 160,000 miles I used Mobil's normal 5w30... it burned about a quart every 3000 miles, but that's it... I never used a high milage oil.
No laughing here. I had a '90 Cutlass Supreme, if I could have any of my old cars back I'd so pick that one! I miss that thing, it was cool. Or even better, if I could pick up one of the convertibles from that era, man those were sharp. But anyway... Yours have the 3.1 in it I take it? I just used normal Pennzoil 5W30 in mine, it had 140,000 on it when I regretfully traded it in some 12 years ago.
