Replacing the Headliner

Post by WagonMafia »

Now I know I remebering seeing something in here about someone taking there headliner out I just cant remember who it was. I need to replace my headliner due to my idiot friend burning a spot in it with a lighter. What I really want to know is how the hell do I get it off. Thanks

I was thinking i could get some black suede and just spray glue it on to the headliner real good, and tack it in at a few hidden places like around the lights or something.

I replaced the headliner in my '87 Nova/Corolla when the original material started to sag. Got the material at a fabric shop - it was dark blue suede with some light foam padding on the back surface and was specifically made for headliners. Then used some 3M spray-on glue to attach it to the backing plate and put it back in the car. It's been quite a few years now and it still looks fine.

teh guy that does my body work.. he used the paint you would use to paint a car....its better to use that paint, it last longer, and once the clear coat is on its hard to chip ..but overall i like the result of my car..

any pics of your interior DA1? I've been thinking about replacing the headliner with a nicer material. you know... to fix the rattle from the sunroof controls.
