I've found almost all I think I need to know to guide my mechanic through the installation of the GM/Delco cruise control switch on my 2007 base 5-speed. I did notice on the Matrix owners forum, though, the mention of a clutch switch. The posts were not totally clear but I gathered the clutch switch is already a part of USA-built Vibes. Should I add a clutch switch to my list of concerns? If so, where does it go?Incidentally, Rockauto has the cruise control stalks in stock and mine was shipped the day after I placed the order.DC3
All you have to do is add the cc stalk. The computer takes care of the rest. I have a 2006 5 speed, and I didn't have to do anything with the clutch. The clutch switch you are referring to that cancels the cc when the clutch pedal is depressed is already there. No worries, your Vibe will take care of all that for you. It's really silly, because everything that is needed for you to have cruise control is already part of the car, except for the cc stalk. When you get the stalk in the mail and see how simple it is, you'll wonder why it isn't standard equipment.

Well, you're absolutely right about its being standard...I just assumed it was and failed to ask enough questions! Loving the car even if after only a week's driving. Looks as if I'm getting very good mileage, too, but won't check it 'til nearer the weekend. Gasoline just hit $3.89 here today so we need all the help we can get DC3
