Does anyone know of a good cleaner/compound for the bumper? I have a two tone and the previous owner obviously had a giant bumper sticker on the back that has left a slight discoloration, and there is also a spot in the middle of the bumper where someone has scrubbed too hard and scratched it up. Neither place is too noticible, but I know it's there and it's bothering me! lol. Any suggestions on how to make it look a little better would be appreciated!
The place it was scrubbed too much I don't know what you can do other than repainting the spot. The place where the sticker was. Is is still sticky like adhesive being left behind? That may also be that the whole paint job faded in the sun except where the sticker was . Not much you can do about that.
You have two problems that are pretty much unsolvable. If your cladding is faded that much, get some peanut butter and put it on the whole bumper, in sections. The oils will absorb and help bring it back. The problem is that it was covered up so it did not fade evenly with the other plastic. Kinda tough. The scratches are another story, if they are not too bad and surface, then some Meguiar's #40 will work fine for you, you can find it at most online stores, I use autodetailingsolutions.net The product works good and cleans up a lot of marks. But if it is pretty deep and actually is missing some of the material, then you cannot do much but replace the cladding section.
P.S. - go with Goo Gone for residue removal. I would not use Alcohol as alcohol dries things out, and you would be pulling oils and what not from the plastic thus dulling it further over time. Same effect as putting windex on tints.
