Player Flash MP3 & FM Tuner

Post by PopeyeFAFL »

To everyone more knowledgeable than me, here is my question.I want to purchase an MP3/FM Tuner Flash Player, music as such don't interest me (nor photos & video), it is only to listen to FM radio at work or interviews, PodCasts or public debate than I downloaded from my PC at home (I might listen to a song or two, but this is not the decision driver here). At home, I'm still under Window 2000 & USB 1.0 (at work, company policies forbid connecting any USB devices on the company server).I got a Microsoft Keyboard with extra USB ports (no need to reach the back of the tower for connection), to date, my system recognized all the USB Sticks or External Hard Drive that I plugged.1.0 Does a SanDisk MP3 player compatible with Window XP/Vista (because it is the standard today) may work on my system? 2.0 Do I need to worry about the bundle software that came with this player for transferring files into it? Or only for converting file format (in which case, I will not be able to load this software).3.0 To date, I'm looking for a SanDisk (1 Go, 2 Go or 4 Go, but with SD Card expansion) for the ease of finding accessories (case, extra battery, etc.), I'm not ready to pay a lot for an Ipod + extra for the FM tuner. Is SanDisk a good choice? or do you recommend me something else? Thanks in advance.

1.0 - Shouldn't be a problem. Most USB devices should be recognized on 2000 and up. You may need additional drivers though.2.0 - No. Should be drag and drop from explorer. (like most mp3 players. Even iPods don't need the packaged software. It's just much easier.)3.0 - Haven't used them myself, but a coworker has a sandisk and is quite happy with it.

SanDisk makes a nice mp3 player. I have the e270 (6GB) and my wife has the e250 (2GB). They work great and recharge using the USB port. They are plug and play with WinXP. No software needed. Newegg has the e250 on sale for $48.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...25011
