Vibe an old person's car?

I don't know. I heard they were targeting the 20-35 range. GM wanted to get a piece of the Tuner pie. Why should Honda and Toyota get all the ricers? Then again, I know grandparents that drive Civics and Accords. I guess I fall under their target market, 25 year old female. Now, I have a habit of liking cars, nice ones. I've changed from a 98 Grand Am (first car new off the lot) that I had for 10 months to a 92 Blazer (more power and flexibility), 6 months later to a 98 Kia Sephia (it was cheap and a POS), 2 months later to a 00 Mercury Cougar (laser red and the only car I've ever been pulled over), 14 months to a 01 Ivan Stewart Tundra (that I loved), 2 years later to my Vibe GT (which I am beginning to love). All these changes to cars/vehicles have added to my debt along with student loans, credit cards, life, etc.I have only a 2 year degree, not finished with my 4 year in Business Admin. I don't even know if I will ever finish it. Life just happens. I have a good job that I love working for a small start up company in marketing. I make about $45K/year increasing each year. In fact when I decided to sell my truck (back in October) the guy signed an agreement to purchase it by end of April and make small payments toward the down payment. I only made $28K on last years taxes. This year, I've already made $23K and it's only half over! If I was making this much in October, I would not have sold my truck. It was a sweet truck. now the mod bug has struck again and I am back to adding, upgrading, or deleting items to my Vibe. I'm doing my best to stay on a cash only basis and not spend too much on mods. I have my leather interior enroute and will be added next week along with my sub system, amp, etc. The great thing about the Vibe, is it's what you make of it. Perfectly fine by itself, but even better when you add your own personality to it. Young or old, the Vibe will work. I saw Red say that they bought the AWD version since they live in Fairbanks, bad weather, lots of snow and ice. I live in Anchorage and bought the GT. Still get snow and ice, but nothing a good set of studded tires and sand bags won't fix. I would have gotten the base Vibe if I was still in the same financial situation as I was 8 months ago. The Vibe is affordable to anyone, just depends on your taste and how much you want to spend.

It depends on your out look on life. I am 46 and I bought it because it is fun but also usefull to haul my dogs to the dog shows. The teen in me makes me fix it up. My teenage son(17) thinks that I am nuts becase I like women and fast cars! I am not ready to grow up compleatly!

Well, I hope that Toyota is not too disappointed that I bought a Matrix. I'm sure that I don't fit anywhere near to their target buyer demographic. I guess I just don't like the typical "old people" cars -- my last few vehicles have included two Toyota 4x4 pickups, a Jeep Wrangler, a Chevy ZR2 4x4 and a Camaro Z28.

Well lots of old people drive civics and etc...however it's what one does with canvas that makes it unique to each of us. I don't expect gramps to slap on a spoiler,supercharger, cold air intake or lower their vibe. .

Don't be so sure!I've got three grandchildren, 275/40 x 17" tires on my Vibe, 1" lowering job, accumulating "fun fund" for the SC, etc.

Thanks for the tip but I have to put the seats down because my dogs ride in their dog crates. A divider wouldn't work for me.

Now that I want the info, I can't find it anywhere, lol.Anyway, the only info I am able to find is that the median target age of the Vibe is 29...I'll keep perusing though...

I guess that I fit the demographic to a tee! I am 29 years old and I love my Vibe. It does everything that I would want a vehicle to do. It get's great gas mileage yet it's peppy enough to have lots fun with and it has plenty of room for a person who's athletic and on the go most of the time.I think the Vibe fits a wide range of needs, whether you are young or old. It's one of the best cars that I have owned and I would recommend the Vibe to anyone who is looking for a great car with loads of charisma.Shadow Realm

I'm 22, married, and have two kids. I think the Vibe GT fits both of my levels. It has a great mix of young and older adult features. Anyways, a car is your canvas. You can make it whatever you want you. Everything from a sporty to utility. It all depends on the owner.

I think I fit right into the target market for this car ... I'm 25, not married, but will probably be while I still own this car, with kids to follow not long after. I'm a university grad & a smart consumer who's not keen on buying junk. Isn't that the kind of customer every car maker would want??On the other hand, a friend's dad bought a Vibe shortly after seeing mine. He's gotta be pushing 80. He was replacing an old Transport mini-van with about 350000 km (220000 mi) on it. His son (my friend) had been pushing for the van to be replaced, as dad often took it to the city (an hour drive) and eventually it was going to break down & cost $$$ to fix.

They all work great. It is very nice for a family trip, or a trip to the track. It's the best of both worlds.

well i have seen more older people driving the vibe then younger but I think that is because it can haul things and if you have a family it is a great car. I love my vibe though its the best car I have ever had I would not trade it for anything

I'm a 21 year old GT owner, and I love it. Shortly after getting mine, about 3 of my friends picked up a vibe, 2 of them being GTs. I do see a lot of older people buying them, and I know my mom is thinking about getting a base Vibe.
