Need Vibe Base clarification ASAP!

Post by hambox »

Hey guys,I ordered some Brembo replacement discs last month from an online vendor and actually only went to have them put on yesterday. Turns out they are rear discs, and not the fronts like I assumed I had ordered. The site says these fit Vibe base and Vibe GT. I am correct in saying that the base Vibe ONLY has discs on the front, and has the drums out back right?

correct...no base has 4 disc brakes..wish they did but they dont..they do sell the rear disc conversion kit..so maybe the ones you bought were to replace those if needed..sorry to hear about it..should send it back and just exhange it..im sure they would

Well, just 3 days short of a month so I should be good in that regard. Looks like they are going to be hard to deal with, they claim that they sent what was ordered, rear brakes. Here is a link to the brakes I purchased. It's misleading, IMO.http://www.autopartswarehouse.....htmlAnd thanks a ton for the quick reply guys, good to know that I'm not crazy heh.

Yeah, they do. I had looked at some other brands on there and some specify either way rear or front. The details on the Brembo, saying it fits base Vibe, led me to get those. Seemed like a good price and a known name.Hopefully these guys will be good about it, and all will be fine.

There is no notation stating that the discs are for rears. I would fight to the death until you get your way on this one!

x2 the description is blank.in their deffence the rotors that are listed directly above them range in price from 140-120 and the ones you got were 40bucks.They do have a chat live person you could have checked with on the order. But to me if one is 140 and another is 40 something would have told me to double check the part to makesure it's correct

True, but those are performance rotors and these are just stock style replacements. Their price on these (compared to other sites selling similar replacement style) is competitive with other sites I looked around on, and the price is within six bucks of the Aimco brand front discs listed just a couple slots below the Brembos. Not to mention, those listed above the Brembos are sold in pairs.

Update for anyone interested in the outcome. Waiting on a full refund of the brakes and the cost of return shipping, hopefully that will happen early next week. Finally got new discs for the front - no more vibration!
