ok... most of you know I passed on the hotckiss springs and now I upgraded to coilovers. It took me longer than i thought but then again i had to modify celica coils to fit my AWD vibe. Sorry it's dirty... it's been raining... Deal with it.Enough talk...PhotosPritty:BEFORE:AFTER:Photo of the rears:stock ride height was 28.5 inches in the backnow it's 25.5inches in the back

Quote, originally posted by Raivis »so what do you have to modify??? did you only have to modify them bc its awd??? looks sweetI had to enlarge the holes on the front mounts. The celica mounts are 3mm smaller than the vibe. So i had to drill out the holes to make them fit.The backs bolted right up, but i did need to use the tophat from the stock strut to mount the rear coils. The fronts didn't need any parts from the old struts.Quote, originally posted by kevera »Dude,it still looks like a monster truck Looks good man. The photos don't do it justice. It's LOW... my wife even noticed when she followed me over to the shop today to get the alinement done she said she thought my exhaust was dragging because of how much of a difference there is.

Lookin good. Just like a few people have said, in the pics it does not look like it lowered it that much. But the tape measure does not lie. You should get some 17"s with low pros like Mavrik said.
I'm diggin it.... I'm actually considering Ksports for my Subie... They are quite cheap for what you get... Would you mind telling what you paid? ~1000$ correct?
Quote, originally posted by WaveAction »looks good man, how much did those run you compared to the hotchkiss??the coils are about 8 times more expensive than the springs...

Those specs do seem a bit odd... 8.8* of caster... -2.1 and -2.3* of camber... seems quite out of range.. Question, did you take it to just any place? Not everyone is adept in aligning coilover cars... even IF they say they can do it..
I know what you meen the caster isn't much of an issue as long as they are close to each other... which they aren't there is almost a 2degrees difference. It is pulling slightly to the right which that would account for it.What i want to know is why the moved the caster in the first place it was within speck before they did the adjustment?I was thinking about getting these for the rearand these for the frontshttp://www.horsepowerfreaks.co...Fronthttp://www.hotchkis.net/p-682-....aspx to help with the rear camber issueThe fronts i have the adjustable pillowball mount to get it in speck if i want to mess with it

I would be calling places, maybe performance shops and see if you can find someone that does this often... 2 degrees off on the caster... wow... and the change, 3.6 to 6.6 and 3.1 to 8.8.. What does it look like from the pillow ball standpoint?(looking down on them) Is the travel maxed out on any of the corners? Ot, your Vibe would look killer with my 17" Leggy GT wheels and tires BTW..
called the shop today. talked with the manager.Apparently the guy who did the alinement didn't know that the car's rear camber was adjustable so that wasn't done. He also wasn't told the car had adjustable pillowball mounts on the top of the coilover so that wasn't adjusted either. The caster he was scratching his head about as well because of the numbers that the machine read before the adjustment. He thinks his machine malfunctioned or something.I set up an appointment on friday morning with the shop manager. He will put the car back on the machine and him and I will realine the car to speck. free of charge.Quote, originally posted by WaveAction »i never heard of ksports...do they do springs aswell or just coilovers?for certain cars they do but not for the vibe or trixQuote, originally posted by Tonyk27 »Vary nice looks good. Now, buy my Leggy GT 17"s and marvel in the hotness.... lol..

ok new speck sheet. notice the caster is much better still not perfect but it's not adjustable. Also the rear camber isn't adjustable, just the toe is, so it looks like i will be buying thesehttp://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/EIB581270K.htm

ok just an update for those who don't go to Matrix owners.Turns out the car wasn't "bouncing" when it was set to full stiff.the rear coil is too soft and bottoms out when i hit a bad bump.I have been jumping threw hoops trying to figure out what to do. I have had the rear axle weighed and sent that to ksport so they can do a custom spring rate for me.I have now been waiting for over a week for them to get back to me. Their customer service stinks!I made up my mine to take out the coils and sell them and go back to stock because of this issue.Although I love how the car looks it's not practical if i have to slow down for bad dips or swerve for every pothole. So tomorrow the coils will come out and I will sell them to a celica owner for which the coils were designed to ride on.

Holy crap, you sure you didn't put some F-150 struts on there... that thing looks LIFTED... WoW.... Something maybe to consider, give Ground Control a call, talk to them about getting a set of coil sleeves designed for the car (they may have them for the Matrix and/or vibe already) and mate them with KYB AGX struts... I know that is one of the more budget minded set-up for the WRX guys and in the end, KILLS on the street/track... and won't break the bank...
