Maybe this post is in the right place... maybe it's not? I have noticed that anytime something brushes up against the dash (mainly the black part of the dash) that is leaves "scratch" marks. They are not deep scratches, maybe more or less abrasions. Then if I try to rub them out... it just makes the area where I rubbed even lighter. Any suggestions on how to get rid of scratches like this would be much appreciated. Anyone else had this problem?

I may have to try that because nothing else seems to get rid of the scratches or smudge marks. I don't want to Armorall (sp?) the dash because I don't want a glare on the windshield. I did that to my previous vehicle and it looked sweet cause it was slick and clean, but it was a pain when it came to driving on a sunny day. Guess I'll just have to see what anyone else is doing to resolve this issue.

so far i've only used my california duster on the dash, but since the dash finish is kinda dull to begin with, I didn't think ArmorAll would make it too shiny...on my Hyundai the dash is really just plastic and when I clean it and ArmorAll it it's like a damn mirror...but the finish itself if shiny and smooth to begin with. I'm doing a complete cleaning job this weekend and plan on armoralling the dash...I'll let ya know what it looks like

I see that no one has posted anything on here in quite some time. I just tried Mother's "Back to Black" stuff on the exterior trim (two-tone Vibe) and it looks spectacular. I was wondering if anyone has tried that on the interior of their dash or trim or anything like that? I tried a small amount on the trim pieces at the base of each door on the inside and it looks better than the day I got my Vibe! I am just not sure if the "BtoB" would help or make the dash worse. It doesn't seem to leave a shiny residue like Armor-all and it is for flat black, such as the upper part of the dashboard. I'm tempted to use it on the whole interior because I am so happy with how the exterior trim looks now. Enough of that... let me know if you have tried it on the interior or not and if you had any luck with it.

i used meguaire's natural black on my interior.....the more coats you apply, the wetter it looks...seems to work well....but you have to be carefully to apply it even 'cause it will streak...seems to hide alot of scratches....seems that the interior plastic is very scratch prone...i nag my kid about dragging her shoes around the inside of my car on a daily basis 'cause i'm afraid of the marks she leaves ! b to b does do a great job on the exterior, doesnt it!!! it even helps resist gas drips on the plastic after fill-ups
I use Armor All Protectant. Works amazing! I don't have any scratches on the dash (that I've noticed anyway), and the Armor All gives it that new "wet" look, but certainly hasn't given me any problems with reflections or glares in sunny weather...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I used Armor All Cleaner Wipes first, then Finish 2001 Protectant. I haven't tried Armor All Protectant yet, but I'm sure it will work just as well as the Finish 2001. I used that on my dash and it worked great. The dash still has a low gloss shine to it from when I first put it on about a month ago.

After washing the outside of my Vibe and drying it off with a cotton terry towel, I take the damp (not wet) towel and wipe down the interior. So far, that approach has completely removed the marks on the upper part of the dash every time. You'll probably get streaks with a wet towel, so go for only slightly damp.
similar to what I do, I use a microfiber towel and slightly damp. Works well. I have also used the armor all cleaner wipes and follow with a dry terry towel. I don't like the look of armor all protectant, seems to attract more dust than ever.
