IS it just me or is the paint on the vibe horrible. I have half a dozen chips on the hood and the top. It seems almost impossible to get dry after you wash it. I have used about 8 different washes and the best I have found is Eagle ones new Nano wash. I have used a handful of waxes and still no matter what I do it doesn't seem to help. I have a few surface scratches and swirl marks but am afraid to use a mild scratch remover. I am afraid I will make it worse. I have been a shade tree detailer since I started driving. I have never done it for money but I love doing it and this vibe is making me hate it. Its almost like the vibe doesn't have a clear coat on it. Does anyone know what ponitac has to say about the paint?? Any chance I may have a bad paint job???? Thanks to anyone who can help
I have heard on a website some where that every year the paint gets 30 % thinner than it was before and the best way to guard against paint problems is to wax your car alot. But if you are already having paint problems....They say the wax helps to bounce rocks and stuff off the car easier than without, and that you can't over wax these new cars.I haven't waxed mine yet...

Use the SEARCH upper right corner. The poor paint is well known and very well discussed. My black '06s front end looks like it was hit with a shotgun. The plastic fascia is so blasted from sand it looks gray not black.
It is the way the car's aeronomical design is. That is why we get so many chips....especially in the windshield (like mine---bullseye) Without it though, we wouldn't get good gas milage...
