2003 2WD Service of front wheels and rear wheels-Maintenance?

Post by Losthwy »

Aside from changing the transmission/transaxle fluid what other maintenance needs to be done? The 2WD Vibe doesnt appear to have a differential. Do the front, back or both wheels have wheel bearings that need to be repacked? P.S. There is a "black box" close the left rear wheel, I have no idea what it is.???

As far as I know, the bearings are sealed and require no maintenance. The black box you see near the left wheel is the fuel pump. here's a link to the owners manual for more details on maintenance items: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1010

on Vibes the fuel pump (and fuel filter) are inside the gas tank. The black box by the rear drivers side wheel is the charcoal canister, part of the evaporative emissions control.

Uhmmm. I thought it looked a bit large for a pump.
