My Visor hits the rear view

Post by The Lox »

Has anyone else noticed this? I don't have a sunroof, so I have the map lights on my rear view. I can't put the visor all the way to the windshield without having it bump the rearview out of the way. This really pisses me off and its an obvious engineering mistake. The same thing happend on the vibe I had as a rental a couple years ago. This doesn't happen on our other vibe since she has a sunroof and the rear view is different...Just a gripe I guess I have to get used to...

IIRC the mirror has joints in two different places that you could adjust... closer to the mount on the windshield, and then up by the mirror itself. There was a thread about this somewhere where folks had the same problem, but I don't remember where it was at... can't seem to find it.

The Colonel is right, there are two swivel joints. I put up with the visor hitting the mirror for a couple of years, even asked the dealer to fix it (they told me that's the way it is, the mirror is centered on the windshield, they can't fix it).Eventually I figured out that there is a pivot right at the windshield mount. Moved that to the side a bit and no more problem.

Thanks Gang - I got her fixed last night after finding the thread with the pictures. I have it now so both visors can go up without hitting the mirror, amazing!!

LOL I had the very same gripe when I drove her around the day after I brought Pandora home... a friend leaned up from the back seat and adjusted the mirror for me and I felt like the world's biggest doofus.
