water truck takes out my door ... pics

thank goodness nobody was hurt, my wife was in the passenger seat when a water truck backed up into her.

wow thats brutal..whats amazing though..is the amount of depth the door got pushed in..yet the paint doesnt even chip or anything

I am so sorry,but the water truck probably has insurance so good that you will be able to get it fixed!

Yes, they admitted fault and got a ticket from the police, so hopefully their insurance co. will come through easily.

That's quite a gash. I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt (though I can imagine your wife was a bit shaken up). What was it on the truck that made the gash?

Looks like someone at my store took a forklift to it...lol...seriously though, quite the gash! Might be able to get away with only a skin though, and not have to replace the whole door.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

thanks for the replies all. I wasn't there when it happened but frankly I'm surprised the damage wasn't worse. It's funny, coming up on my 4 year mark later this month. I've liked this car so much that I always had a fear nagging in the back of my mind that it would get hit one day. Now that it has happened I'm knocking on wood that this will be the only time. I'm at 44k miles and plan to keep her for a long time to come.

ooops.... I feel your pain....We have the information on the idiot our new 2009 Vibe hit and run. I am in contact with their insurance company. California casualty.....
