I was just surfing ebay and came across these. Although I have a 2004 VGT, I figured I'd put this up in case anyone may be interested. I think the insert actually looks pretty nice. I like it better than the billet inserts. You can see that the insert complements the chrome trim around the upper grill inserts, maintaining a common/similar theme. Anyways, that's just my opinion. Take a look and see what you think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
That is actually a good find. I am not sure about the 04 to 05 Vibes but I know on the Matrix the grilles are different from 03-04 and 05+. They are still able to attach at the same points but they are different, hopefully someone on here can offer insight.
don't waist your money. They are just overlays on the existing grills. If you want the same effect. go out and buy a roll of door edge guard moldingYou can even buy it from ebay if you wanthttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Good suggestion, Keith. If I wanted to go for that look, I would definitely try it. I'm not sure about that look, though. Even though the actual shape of the lower grill remains unchanged, the more pronounced straight chrome bars somehow seem to clash with the "honeycomb" appearance of the upper grill. Still, it might make for an interesting experiment. I'm pretty sure that door edging would just pull right off if I decided I didn't like it. Even if it left any adhesive residue, a bit of GooGone should clean it right up.

The grill remined me of the door molding too. Actually even more so, my brother had a 41 Ford hotrod, and he used a similar product to change the beat up old pot metal lower grill inserts to chrome. He used the 1/2in or 3/4in chrome strip with adhesive backing, a product that can also be bought at your local auto store. In this case, the strip does not have a "U" shaped cross section but has a semicircle cross section.
It probably is the same stuff, but for $5.00 more, I get it all pre cut and ready to install. I'll let you know exactly what it is once it gets delivered to my house.
ya cuz using a tinsnip to cut plastic is really hard to do. But what ever floats your boat man... I used to use the molding on my ventvisors years ago. Ever wonder why there is a little set back on your ventvisor?

I ordered a set today. I also painted my upper grill gloss black last night. When I get the new lower grill kit on, I'll post a photo. Thanks for the link. I was able to get the upper grill out easily to paint it (I didn't paint the chrome borders) based on a post here about how to do it.
I got mine installed last week, I've been trying to get time to wash the car and clean all the bugs off the front bumper but that hasn't happened. Here are the pics, please excuse the bugs and dirt.
never mind the bugs... you should cut your grass I still think it would have been cheaper with the door edge mouldings but it does set it off nicelyAND where are your FOG light protectors?? lol living the life dangeriously.

I did cut my grass...4 days ago. The lawn on the left is my neighbor. It's growng fast this year. The grill inserts are similar to edge molding but they are a little bit thicker ( not as much flex). I think it came out alright.
looks awesome nygiants..would be nice if they made a grill similar to that instead of what mr.grille sells..so it'll match..should get some fog light covers to protect those fogs..i think that should be a manditory thing to have on the vibes
Grill inserts look great. I just sent them another email. He said mine were sent on May 5th and they didn't arrive yet - today is 13th. Your photos make me glad I ordered them if I can get them here.
Shipping was slow, I ordered on April 29 and got them May 7. He sends the kit in a padded envelope through the mail. Anything like that using the post office takes forever. The crossbars I bought for the roof rack took 16 days coming from Chicago.
Glad to know. I figured something was going on with packaging and USPS. Got an offer today from him to ship another one, but I asked that we wait for today's mail. I am impressed with his concern and willingness to help.
Installation took about 30 minutes. The short pieces were a breeze but the longer (center) sections were a little bit of a challenge. The adhesive grabs hard on contact and it was tough keeping the entire section straight.
Finally got my lower grill kit and got the "chrome" strips on. Also, painted my upper grill with gloss black. License plate shown with NC lighthouses is because I live 15 minutes from ocean in southeastern NC, USA. Thanks to forum folks for assistance.
pretty good looking....if i did i think i would just put them on the outer lower grills by the fog lights since you cant really see my entire middle lower grill cuz of my license plates...
