Lug nuts for Scion factory wheels on a Vibe GT

Post by shfd739 »

I have an '05 Vibe GT and Im looking at a set of stock Scion TC 18" wheels. Do I need new lug nuts or will my stock lug nuts work fine? Im also gonna need a locking one for each wheel so is there any recomendations for those as well. Thanks for any help this board has answered all my questions so far.

well im not sure if you would need new wheel nuts, but im hoping you dont, dont see why you would but as for locking wheel nuts, i use mcgards(spelling?) locking wheels nuts, can usually find them at any auto store, usually in clear plasic with the purple front on it like so:

I have McGards also. Very pleased with them. Also, I have a new set of tuner lugs/valve stems FS. Check them out: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=32286.

Much depends on how the Scion wheels take lugs.... Are they a tapered seat design like the McGards above? Or are they the through hole "top hat" design the Vibe uses?? If they are tapered seats then that's EASY, if they are like the vibes, well, that design SUCKS.. and you REALLY don't want to try using them with the scion wheels... (they might not even fit the holes.) I'm speculating here though...
