Brake ?

I just changed my front brake pads and I've changed many o brakes. so i thought that went quick. then I'm cleaning up and there is little bag with metal clips...uhoh. i then LOOK at the old brake pads and they also have this metal tab that clips onto the side of the pad. question?is this a piece to let me know about wear? drove it down the road and back everything seems O.K.

I'm pretty sure you've got a wear indicator that didn't get installed. If you choose not to install them, you won't get an audible indicator when the pads wear down. They don't do anything but squeak when they contact metal.

I believe that clip is to let you know about wear. I'm not sure if it has any other function.

thanks for the quick repliesThats what I thought. well I made 60,000 with still some pad left, so i'll check em again at 100,000 lol. or install them when I do the rear drums later this week.
