New Vibe owner...

Post by sufan »

I just wanted to introduce myself. I purchased a new 2008 Vibe. I am very excited about my new car. It is white in color, with only 4 additional options. It has automatic transmisson, 4 wheel ABS, monotone package, and aluminum wheels. My friends liked the car very much, but the first thing out of their months was "no power windows!, and manual locks!" I do very little driving(around 10k) a year, and I really didn't need all of the goodies.Previously, I had a 2001 Mercury Sable( that I purchased new) with all of the bells and whistles. It was a wonderful car, worry free. But, it was starting to rust and was going to need both a little body work and some mechanicals were going to be replaced. Either I was going to repair and clean up the car, or still get a decent trade in on it.(obviously I chose the latter)!I feel that i got a very good deal on the car. With a nice reduction off the sticker, a very nice rebate(2250.00), and a true trade in value on my car, I feel it was the right time. After a week of ownership, I am truly enjoying the car. It is so easy to drive and park. Of course, the cargo room is amazing(all of my friends who have sedans are asking me to help them move things)!I definitely can see me owning this car for a very long time, and the great ratings it receives hopefully will back it up.Here are a couple of pictures:Regards, Jay

Gorgeous white monotone. Welcome to Vibedom! No need to apologize about the lack of power options (at least not to me). That was my preference when I went looking, and I was tickled to find my (new at the time) '06 configured exactly the way I wanted, and in the exact color I wanted. I've had mine about nineteen months now, and couldn't love it more (just turned 4500 miles - I don't do a lot of driving either). I think you'll feel the same way as well.

Nice looking Vibe; and great that you were able to find a basic setup. Those are hard to come by where I live. You'll learn to love this car.I'm originally from Syracuse, but now in Florida. Still have lots of family in your area. My brother-in-law lives in the Seneca Knolls neighborhood near Van Buren and B-ville. Your pix kind of reminded me of there.

Power Package - probably the most useful item is the cruise control and there are threads here that indicate that can be added at minimal cost.

The Sable had lots of power(V6, 200 HP). It was a great highway car(unfortunately, I did city driving). In the city, I got around 15MPH. A very comfortable car, but I really wanted to downside.Regards, Jay

Mine has the manual doors and windows too.I've had my Vibe for 10 days now and I love it more everyday.I am tall for a girl,(5'10") and this is the most comfy ride in a 4cyl. car that I've ever had.It sits high on the road too,so it takes dips real well.
