Leather seat option

Post by cmhj2000 »

Does anyone have this option in their Vibe?I'm loooking at doing this on an 08, if it's still availble, to possibly obtain a bit more comfort.Guess I'm curious how much better they are for long trips etc.TIA for any comments.

The leather is available, from what I understand they look great, for me leather too sticky during a hot day.

I'm not a big fan of leather seats (especially after yesterdays 90+ temperatures). We have a Saturn Relay to haul the kids and dog around in and it has leather seats. We got a great deal on the lease because we took one they had on the lot so we "had" to get the leather seats with heat warmers (which are nice in the winter). If I could have chosen, I would have decided against them. Especially in a mini-van. In a luxury car it may be different, but I doubt I will be in the market anytime soon.Mike

My sister-in-law has them in her '05 GT. I have regular cloth in my '05 GT. (weird enough we both have almost exactly the same car with the biggest difference being hers has leather and mine does not). Her leather seats look nice and seem to be holding up well, however, she says my cloth seats are more comfortable.

I have the leather option on my AWD Vibe. I love them. They do feel softer than the cloth seats. For long trips, I have more of an issue of the seat position and steering wheel postition(not telescoping). The seat comfort is fine for me.

Leather was an option if I'd gone for a Vibe on the lot instead of having them find me "the perfect one" I traded leather for side airbags, and I'm pretty happy about it.You can also put me in the "I'm not thrilled with leather", too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, the exception would have been if the Vibe had heated seats with the leather, but that wasn't an option.

I've got the factory leather in my '05 GT. It's held up quite well, and I've never had any complaints about the seats (even when I drove from Austin, TX to St Louis, MO with nothing but stops for gas).

I have leather in my 07. I think that they go nicely in the car. We've gone on several road trips across the New England area, and although my girlfriend didn't like them at first (something about heat in a black car with black leather... I didn't quite follow it ), I haven't gotten any complaints in the past 6 months. I've only seen one other Vibe with the leather in my area.As for the heated seats, my dad used to work for a dealership that would swap out the original seats for heated occasionally. I keep forgetting to ask him about it though.

I haven't had a problem with the leather getting too hot..maybe the tinted windows help, maybe being in the garage most of the time helps...Quote, originally posted by dianebrat » the exception would have been if the Vibe had heated seats with the leather, but that wasn't an option.I lucked out, mine has heated leather seats... man they are nice in the winter...
