Hi folks! I just got my Vibe yesterday. 2009 GT model, Steel Blue color. I was looking at cars under $20k -- it had been over 4 years since I'd owned a car, given the variety of public transportation where I previously lived -- and the GenVibe forums were helpful to peruse through as I made my decision. I was pretty impressed with the dealer--when we mentioned wanting to make the sale soon, they were able to carry through (by driving 3 hours to do a dealer trade for the car, and then driving it back). It had everything I wanted in it, and the best part is that it's a manual transmission -- I grew up driving them, but then ended up driving automatics. My boyfriend hasn't driven a M/T in about 10 years, so we're totally planning on giving him a refresher again! We have the preferred package things, plus the engine block heater & rear cargo cover. The engine block heater is on every car I have seen out here (MN). I'm not too comfortable modding things out *quite* yet, given as while I know my way around tools, the idea of making a mistake while doing something to the car utterly horrifies me. Perhaps once I've had more than 24 hours with the car. Anyway, I look forward to being able to participate in the community and get some ideas from you all! (and pictures forthcoming, once it's actually sunny out)
Great How do you like the GT? Great choice getting manual, makes it that much more fun to drive, costs less, and better on gas. Searches seem to indicate that most of them are automatics. We would all love to see some pics!
Another new Viber! Congratulations and welcome... Everyone here is VERY knowledgeable about the 1st gen vibes. The '09's are so new, we seem to be learning as we go. So as a brand new '09 owner, maybe you can help educate us old Vibers. I still have yet to actually see an '09 in person, though I finally saw/sat in the new Matrix the other day.
