Canadian Tire Goodyear Nordic winter tires

Post by Scott99 »

Purchased Goodyear Nordic winter tires from canadiantire.ca and found them very good during recent snow storm of the century. P195/65R/15 size tire ($74 each) on new steel rims ($49 each) and balanced ($12 each) were on sale and they seem to go on sale almost monthly. This cost just over $600 with tax.Road conditions included 30 cm fresh powder snow, hard packed washboard snow, bumpy ice, wet and dry pavement. While the tires are a bit noisy they are not annoying. The hubcaps don't fit on the rims.Compared to Michelin IceX (used 10K km) on a Pontiac G5 they are identical to me. The stock tires were just plain scarry and these fix that.As as passenger in a Chevy Cobalt on Walmart Winterforce tires I'd say those tires are no better than all season tires. Not sure if all this really means anything other than to say the Nordic tire seems to be of very good value so far.

im not a fan of goodyears(specially the crap they put on our vibes for "all season") but you got a good deal on them.im pretty sure the reason they're abit noisy is cause the tread is new..once it wears down abit, you wont hear it as much. tires i'd like to really get at the bridgestone blizzaks but waiting til next year since im good this year with the new car and hopefully, no more major snow storms til..january of next year!

To echo wave, the stock goodyears are atrocious. The nordics however, are fan-tastic. I agree with the road noise, but I've found that's fairly typical with winters. Especially for the price.

Thanks for letting us know! My friend has those tires on his Mazda 626 and they really impressed me (especially for the price)

I've found the Nordics a good winter tire on my Lumina van.Would the P205/70R15 tires from the van fit a 2005 stock Vibe? Picking the Vibe up next week.

Not on the stock rims. They'll either be a 16 or 17".

Sale on isle #3... Just got 4 Blizzak Revos from TireRack for $66 a piece. Regular price was $102. They're closing them out. Get them while they still have some. I kept a friends Caravan for a year while he was overseas. His winter tires were Revos and I was impressed with the on snow performance. They even did well on ice (on their 4th winter) and were pretty quiet for a winter tire as I remember. Winterforce is also sold by TireRack... wonder if they are the same as Wally World's. Haven't heard very much about them... but Nordics are highly rated for snow.
