Question about vendors

Post by Sublimewind »

Hi all,I've been noticing new post poping up, that look like vendor adds... Is this allowed here on GenVibe? I know on NASIOC you have to have a vendor account for anything other than private party sales... School me. ?

i am wondering the same thing. We do not allow vending without a vendor account on either Legacygt.com or NASIOC.com (I am a vendor). I pay $990 per year for that privilege.

In most cases, it is not allowed without permission. The only one that I really know of is the guy with the shifterboots. If you're seeing others, report them to the moderators. If they're OK we'll let you know if not we'll delete the posts.Remember, we can't be everywhere are once.

Can I get some further details/info on this topic? I am noticing that we are needing to crack down on vendor/for sale posts (which we are starting to do) - I'd like some feedback so we can act accordingly.Thanks.

I can tell you as a moderator on the LGT forums (yes, I know it's different however we have 25,000 members) there are different classifications of vendor accounts allowed. You have Vendor I who pay a nominal fee to SELL to forum members or offer discounts, usually for a 3 month or 6 month term. Then there are Vendor II accounts who have a lot more priveleges, pay much more and some even get their own Vendor Forum for those who want to ask a lot of questions. Now, I'm not sure how this exactly would work on GVC because there aren't a ton of vendors who work specifically with Vibes or Matrixes. So that would be difficult, however by having established vendors, you can weed out the Spammers who just want to push their products. On the NASIOC forums, I have a vendor account as mentioned previously. I pay them $990 per year to sell my products and services to its 168,046 members of which 39,743 are active. I just renewed my vendor account there because yes, I did find it worth while and I made quite a bit more than that from selling to members. When I think of people who would do well on GVC, I think of Neverenoughauto or ptuning.com, Grafxwerks, etc.

also, to add to my post earlier, I just read the FS rules. I understand that GVC is still a small site compared to others, however I can tell you that most problems I see happen on the lgt and nasioc forums involves the FS threads and USUALLY with individual members and not actual vendors (only one or two vendors had major issues in the past). Just a suggestion, but here are some things that I had to post in our rules over there. And for the record, I've sold many parts and bought many parts from members of the forums or vendors well over $500. http://www.legacygt.com/forums...26914It might be helpful. Also, in regards to Vendor accounts and sellers, though it doesn't list the rules, it may still help:http://www.legacygt.com/forums...10472As for NASIOC, vendor accounts are VERY strict! There are a lot of them and they help pay for the site and make it all run. http://forums.nasioc.com/index.php?page=rules
