Button-looking-things on rear hatch...

Post by Envy03 »

One of the exterior black "buttons" on the rear glass hatch has lost all of its black paint coating is now rusty, also another one has been chipped but is still semi coated. Any suggestions on how to paint those?

I would tape off the button thing, so no glass gets anything on it, sand the metal down, primer and paint it black. then clear coat if you dont want it wearing off again, or just tons of paint. Mine were sharting to chip when I sold mine.

Page 2 in this .pdf shows you how to remove the bolt and the packing if you want a cleaner finish...just take them out, sand them, and paint them. You can also take them in and have them powder coated if you want.
