Comic Strip or Comic Book Creation.

Post by PopeyeFAFL »

For some odd reasons, I just got interested in Comic Strip or Comic Book Creations. I have one or two good ideas for a books, perhaps a comic books might be a better way of getting this into reality.I purchased a Scott McCloud book (Making Comics) on that subject. Is there people here that knows of good Internet Site or Software to create your own Comic Strip (or Comic Books). I think I will be more incline of using the computer as much as possible. I have a Wacom tablet, so I can input drawing directly. Not sure what software is used, probably Photoshop can do.I'm not an artist as such, but being an Aerospace Engineer for 30 years, I'm used to free hand sketch several technical components and I have a good sense of proportions & perspective skills, so maybe I could give it a shot.I don't quite understand the Manga madness, but judging by the shell space devoted to this, it must be popular. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you'll want Photoshop, that's more for image manipulation, I think Adobe Illustrator will do better for you. But you can download a trial version from the site to see if you like it first.Like this...http://youtube.com/watch?v=HpI...lated

Here's my process: – Write the comic, do a rough sketch of the layout – Pencil and ink the boxes – Pencil in the drawings, leaving space for word balloons – Ink and erase pencils – Scan into photoshop – Color, add text and word balloonsYou can see my comics here: http://www.nibcrom.com/ If you have a Wacom tablet, you could just skip the drawing on paper part if you're comfortable with that. Otherwise I would do a rough sketch on paper, scan it, and then digitally ink it.Of course before you start all of this you'll have to figure out what you want your comic to be about, so you'll have to write write write and draw draw draw!
