I'm considering calling to cancel it since I want to move to syntheticMy dealer charges 89.95 for a full synthetic change --- if I choose to do it myself, how much is oil/filter for the vibe?

My Vibe synthetic oil/filter changes cost me about $15.00. I buy my filters for $2.00 and get Mobil 1 or Pennzoil when it's 2 for 1 at Advance Auto Parts in NY. At Ottawa prices you're looking at $35.00-$40.00. I have a lifetime oil change deal on my '99 GMC that I paid $370.00 for at Sunrise (Donnelly's). Since I changed to synthetic, I supply the oil and they do the labour, filter and lube. Costs me about $15.00 for the oil.

That said, seem like they should be happy to use instead synthetic that you provide. They are saving themselves the cost of 5 qts of Dino oil.

I get free lifetime oil changes from my dealer (dino oil btw), and I still change my own oil, because I prefer synthetic.Try pouring a quart of dino oil, then a quart of synthetic on a cold winter day, and see which one flows better. I know which one I want in my crank case when I start my engine. Sorry T-Rex.

I pay about $25 for 4 qts of Amsoil and $5-10 for a filter depending what one I get. I normally get the Napa Gold for about $6 because Napa is the most convenient. I've also used the Wix and Mobile1 filters.
