Lil Update...

Post by tangerine »

For those who hadn't heard around christmas my fiance' and my best friend were killed in a car accident caused by a street racer and that was pretty much it for me as far as racing goes. I ended up not building a Legacy because I couldn't bare to build a race vehicle after that so 3 weeks ago I decided to go back to doing what I enjoy more than racing and what she loved the most when we first met...my sound systems. I purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona with only 22,000 miles on it because the GoMango reminds me so much of my Vibe and that was my favorite car that I put a system in. Well last weekend I tinted her windows and finished having the custom box built and painted. Pix are not great because my battery was low and I couldn't use flash, I'll be taking better pix when I reveal the work done at the audio meet coming up. Local audio store asked me to put my truck in their booth and display the work.Yea, I was watching halloween while taking pictures .

Thanks, it has been a very hard couple of years and I question every day what I did to have this luck reign down on me but I have had a few great friends there to pick me up when I fall and I wouldn't be able to do any of what I do without them. For me building sound systems has become more than a hobby, but now an escape because music has been the best medicine since my accident.

Wow man, I was wondering lately what happened to you... I truely feel for ya man... If for any reason at all during the day, you find you just need to chat, IM me, I might take a little while to respond, but, I usually check GV a few times a day at least, if not more... That and we have much in common, mainly Audio... I NEEEEED to see more pics of this install... I'm LOVING the glass work... I'm still WIP on my install, finishing up the sound deadening right now... the rest will come together quickly, I hope... only about another month or so till shows and whatnot... Link to my worklog and a great audio community http://www.diymobileaudio.com/...24011Keep ya head up man, you have meny more friends than you know, even if you've never met'em...

Thanks guys and sorry to those who I didn't message sooner, it's been a rough road but I'v been doing best to hang in there. The system is breaking in and sounding much much better than I expected, everyone is telling me that it sounds better than my vibe did which is awesome if it really is. The subs are still about a week-week and a half from being broke in (still too tight to properly hit the highs) and I keep my power to my subs at -6 and last friday I was setting down town at our square with a few friends showing off what I had done and the post master at the post office came out laughing said I set off the alarm on the post office shaking the windows a block away so I had to turn it off so he could close up. That actually put a smile on my face... Can't wait till the audio meet at the end of the month so I can get a DB reading, better pictures, and I'll take a video of what happens when I go to the local Sonic Drive in. They made me come in and the spatula(sp?) laying on the grill was shaking. With all the bad luck over the past 5 years some good finally came my way last week... I finally got back in touch with my sister that had a feud with my parents and kinda went off the grid 10 years ago, I settled my lawsuit (got screwed but medical bills are paid and thats all I was really worried about), and may have a job lined up to start DJing again.

I totally agree life is too short, and she finally is realizing that too and I'm glad. I told her it would mean alot to see her and my nieces again with all that is going on so I'm gonna try and drive to Oklahoma City and see them. Her and my dad never were the same after my sister was killed in a car accident so she moved and never kept in touch. Once every few years she'd send a christmas card with pics of our nieces but that was it then finally she got ahold of my grandma and gave me a call after she heard about all the stuff going on. Hopefully she keeps in touch now.---------------Few questions on the truck..Should I leave, or remove the wing? I am still 50/50 in it. I'm not a wing fan but I do love that it blocks headlights from cars behind me at night (especially love it when morons leave their brights on). Also, if anyone is familiar with the Bonspeed laguna wheels (can't post a picture from my phone (can later) they are a 5 spoke wheel with a 3 spoke blade angled in the center. What do you guys think of getting the Wheels ordered in black with polished lip and getting the blade powder coated the orange of the truck?

Man, I love Bonspeed wheels, I was once a misplaced truck guy, I have HUNDREDS of truck mags and wanted (and still do) nothing more than a 69-72 C10 long bed, dumped on air, with a S&P 383 under the hood.. I can't say the Laguna is going to look good, to many sharp angles for such a smooth truck... I would pick the Huntington or if you wanted to add the color in, the Velocity (huntington with extra spokes)Or go for the classic look with the RodR... The Intense would give you the SRT-10 look to.. (well the SRT-26, if you happened to see that article in truckin')Personally, I would dump the wing... it's a truck... I would lose the Daytona stickers as well.... That thing would look SOOOOOOOOO bad a$$ dumped on air(4 link, monster bridge, cantilever bags), shaved smooth as a baby, rolling on the Bons..

More pix bein added, no "I" didn't do it, I can't lift anything to do it myself anymore. They built the box and had it painted, trimmed my dash to fit a larger head unit, Hushmatted the truck, ect. We'll most likely be removing the center console and building a box for a W7 to go in there if there will be enough air for it, if not another W3 or W6 there. By Memorial weekend we are hoping to have the center console decided on and done, putting my PS3 in the truck, LCD Screen in the headliner, and deciding what to do on the exterior. I hate hate wheelgap but nobody makes a drop kit for 4x4 dodges. 4x4 chevy and ford you can slam to the ground but not a damn dodge...lol. The wing is coming off tomorrow, the graphics may stay though until I get wheels. There will be too buch orange with no contrast if I take the graphics and wing off right now.
