Mods for newer cars

Post by rsaxman »

I just bought a '06 Base. I have been searching the forums and web for mods and it seems that a lot of what is our there is for older models (03-04), this includes intakes. Am I missing something? I know that Matix components can fit, but what about older years and GT components? Thanks

for the most part no GT parts wont fit, they are two different engines, well...wont fit with plug n play, some times modifications can be done, ie. intake, exhaust. imo not worth it unless its a enormous deal.06:-intake - cosmo makes one (needs to work with DBW)-exhaust - same, base for base06+ have dbw, so grounding the throttle body to the negative terminal on the battery is suppose to smooth some accel things out, ill be doing this to my ms3.-springs fit-sc just needs an adapter plate. Most all other mods fit from the 03+ era. It depends what you want though...what are you looking at for mods?

I figured I would start with an intake ( I had one on my Corolla) and also do some grounding work. Can you offer some suggestions? I thought I would go with the Cosmo CAI over the KN SR. Injen only seems to fit the GT.

Cosmo cai is good for 05+ vibes with dbw, its cheap and is pnp for those I had the TRD cai and mmmm cai ftw love the sound! here's a vid of the day I installed ithttp://videos.streetfire.net/v...5.htmGrounding kit and voltage stabalizer seem to help out as well, just like your corolla. Specially for the lights dimming when you roll the windows up/down.

Drive by wire - where the throttle body is electronically controlled instead of by a cable attached to the gas pedal.

There is also strut bar, front and rear sway bars, pulley sets, unichip, camcon, shocks, alignment kits, and bushings. There is more but the list can go on. Most of the Matrix parts will fit the Vibe.
Bye Bye Vibe.............
