Hello,I just spoke to my vendor and he told me he got the production date for my new Vibe, which will be March 31st. Does anyone has an idea of the delay to get the car after the production date? My vendor told me mid-to end of April, probably. I know the car is being made in California, and I'm in Quebec, so the car has a long road to go before reaching me.I can't wait to receive it...
I Eloi!I'm also from Quebec. I ordered mine last week, and it should be produced between may 5th and may 16th if I remember well. The vendor told me it should take 2-3 weeks after the production to arrive at the dealer, so your vendor seems to be right! (our both our vendors are wrong! )Since there is still a lot of snow here, I prefer to wait until June to receive mine! What is your model/color?
Hi guys i am also from Quebec and i will like to buy a vibe as well. Why are you guys ordering and have to wait for so long to have your car? Are there not some vibes at the dealers in Quebec right now? Is it because you want something special on your vibe?
Yeah there is a few Vibe at the dealer, but they are all automatic, red or blue, etc.I wanted a white one, manual, so I needed to order it. Anyway my current lease ends in June, so for me it's perfect to wait 3 months!
I've ordered a base model, Red Hot Metallic, manual, with the 2.4L engine, and the 1SB group (air conditioning, power windows, cruise control...). One thing that bugs me is that the satellite radio is standard in the USA but costs $260 in Canada...I'm not too interested in it, but it's dull to see that once again we're screwed for something more here...I wanted to get the "improved" radio which was able to play MP3 CDs, but it would have cost $290 for that plus $260 for the satellite radio (which we are forced to add to get the better system), total $550. I passed...I'll get a Pioneer or a Sony for much cheaper if I need it later...In stock, there were only 1.8L, mostly automatic or the GTs, so I had to order mine. There is also still a load of snow in Quebec City, so I don't really mind to wait until the end of April. Then, I should be able to wait until next fall to buy winter tires...
Good idea guys,I am waiting as well till april to buy my vibe. I don't think i will be as patient as you guys, specially after knowing i have ordered ;-)You are right about this xm radio thing, 550$ is just to much. I am even afraid the merger between xm and sirius won't help the consumers.I went on the gm us website and built the base 1.8L Auto with equivalent of 1SB options and I got it for about 15% less than the price we are getting over here in Quebec . Don't just understand why we keep paying more and more for the same items...Anyway.Have you guys test drove any of the new vibes?
The only thing we get cheaper here is the financing, 5.4% for the 2009 Vibe, compared to more than 10% in the US. Of course, I'd have preferred to get the 0% that many other GMs got but oh well...I did test drive the GT model before ordering, which has the 2.4L engine I'll be getting. I loved to drive it. I was already sold to buy a Vibe, but this really convinced me.
