I've got my stock 17" wheels/tires up for sale, and I just realized I didn't post what I've replaced them with. I got a set of 18" silver Tech 5's wrapped in Nexen N5000 235/40/18s. These came mounted and balanced with lugs and hubcentric rings for $725 shipped! It's by far the best deal I came across on wheels (I liked) with tires that have a good treadwear rating (420). I also splurged on some 1" spacers for the rear and a set of black chrome McGard lugs/locks to match the center decals from grafxwerks. This is definitely another "bang-for-the-buck" (relatively speaking) upgrade.
Thanks all! Actually, the Pontiac overlay looks better in person than in the photo. Reflective red always looks orange in pics with flash. The red gives a little accent to the silver/black overall theme.
Got them off of ebay. They would not be my 1st choice wheel (or tire) to buy, but I buy items for my vibe based on two parameters - likeability AND price. When these two parameters are combined, these wheels/tires quickly shot up to the top of my list. Anyways, the guy on ebay is "wheelz*r*us". The nice thing about his auctions is that they are "buy or best offer" auctions. And this guy accepts really good best offers. So, I researched his past auctions to learn roughly what kind of best offers he was accepting and made an offer on the wheels alone, which I assumed he would definitely not accept. Well, he accepted! So I then told him the cheapest price I found for the tires, and he not only beat that price by $3 but also threw in mounting/balancing/lugs/hubcentric rings. So my advice is to not be locked into a specific wheel and/or tire choice. You should be flexible by incorporating the price parameter as well! PS - New price on my stock wheels/tires for sale: $425 + shipping.
lol. Actually I purposely chose that picture with no flash and a little "off" so that you guys didn't see all the space between the wheels and fenders and say "Nice wheels, but you need to have your car lowered". It's in the works at some point
Gotta love the characters on this site. Nice wheels! Great price. More pics, damn the space. I probably won't be able to lower. Deep winter snow and then terrible roads the other two months of the year are the reasons.
