Custom Grille

Post by Mario »

I’ve been thinking of getting a custom grille done on my 2006 Vibe from a metal guy I know. I just have one problem… I have no idea of what to get. Do any of you have some suggestions as to what “pattern” would look good on the 2006’s. What do you guys think of getting the pattern of the new GTI’s grille on the Vibe? Thanks for your suggestions

No offence to those who have it, but that thing is tacky.

If you could somehow swing it, I would try something two tone in fasion. Black and Chrome or something to that effect might look nice, but as far as a pattern...Im not sure what would look good. I too agree with you in that I do not find that billet grille appealing.

I'd much prefer some sort of silver mesh...something patterned similar to the honeycomb to the billett.
Oh yeah...did I mention I am a professional photographer? This is my website

okay, nevermind to my last question, as i just found the 04 grilles! Man, I have to get those.. But I'm wondering... black or silver for my silver vibe? Black is a good contrast.. but silver might make it look sleek... hmmmm...

Black. I find the silver blends a little too well.

Just as an example, I painted my grills black, it's not the came color, but...I think it looks betta.

thanks for the advice. yeah, i guess black would be best.. i wouldn't want silver to blend so much that it isn't noticeable! dang, i can't wait.. only $106 too

Man, painting the grill was a definite improvement. There is much more contrast now!

I'm in the process of making a custom grill for mine.I've hollow out the stock honeycomb pattern and have the frames, and want to insert some sort of mesh. But,I'm not good at fabrication, and I am having a hard time figuring out how to go about it.My biggest obstacle is how to fasten it to the plastic frame.Any suggestions?

hahaa... seriouslyI am planning on getting the 3pc set from Mr. Grille for my car..what i didnt realize is that they are overlays, which makes it alot easier to install because i don't have to remove the honeycomb pieces. And it is going to look extremely awesome judging by some of the pics I have seen on here!

I had ordered my grille from mrgrille back in early 06 for my 05 vibe and unfortunately decided I didn't like them on the car, after it was to late to send them back. They definately look better on the 03/04 face.I like what V did painting the chrome rings on the grille, but I descided on mine when I painted them to leave them chrome, just to add some flash to the front I guess

I wish they weren't. They are such a pain to install that I only put on the bottom 3.

Wow, I can't believe it's been nearly 4 years since my first set of Mr. Grille grilles: I've got the black ones on now; sorry for the crappy lic plate:Hopefully it gives those with 03/04/05 (?) Vibes an idea of how both look on the same car.
