Hi!My name is Lisa and I'm new to the forums. I do not currently own a Vibe/Matrix but I am very interested in purchasing one and thought that these forums could help me in my decision.I can not afford a brand new one (although I would love to), but I am looking at purchasing a 2006 or 2007.So my questions are:What do you like most about your Vibe/Matrix?What do you like least about your Vibe/Matrix?
Welcome! I love my car, it is amazing. Now to answer your questions...I love everything about it except for the motor, it's a little slow, but that's what you get for the great gas mileage.I don't like the motor, it's a little slow, but that's what you get for the great gas mileage.(did I just repeat myself?)

Yes, yes and yes.Ok, it's really not that bad for a 4-cylinder. It's quicker than my wife's Jetta. I love how much stuff I can put in it, the gas mileage, the handling, the comfort of the seats, and the list goes on and on.

Is it easy to fix yourself? My brother is pretty good with cars. He's been fixing the car I have now since I got it, doing oil changes, changing breaks, tune ups.
What kind of car you have now? Yeah i work on it myself. It's got a lot of room to work with. Unlike my Eclipse. I hate not having room to do anything. I have some room but not enough.
welcome to the family i think what mando meant was you can do performance mods to it. but it is easy to do oil changes. i've done mine a few times when i didn't have time to take it to the dealer, and you don't even have to jack it up (if you've got the stock suspension) i love everything about my vibe. if you know how to drive a manual, you might wanna get the GT. they're more powerful than the base model, and the 6 speed is great, especially after you take it above 6,000 rpms they handle very well for being a wagon, and the seats are more comfortable than the caddy and oldsmobile ninety-eight i owned. you can haul just about anything you want, the front passenger seat folds down flat if you need it to, so you can put some longer items in it. the hatch glass also opens seperately from the hatch, which is one thing i love.the only thing i'm not too fond of is the paint. it chips fairly easy around the door sills, but a can of touch up paint from the dealer isn't expensive if you wanna fix it.

Thanks for the great welcome!I currently own a 1998 Cavalier that's falling appart, hence why I need a new (or newer) car and I was looking for something bigger but not too big.I would love to learn how to drive manual, but I have a bad left knee and I think with all of the city driving I do, it might damage it some more.I can't wait to test drive one, I've only heard good things about this car.
thanx for clearing that up for me mrcn rce . I really wanted to get a GT for me but I got the Vibe for my wife. I liked the Vibe ever since my wife's friend took us for a little drive in hers. I thought it was a fun car to have. Now look @ mine. lol. My wife can't drive a stick because she is handicapped from the right hand and can't use it normally like me so I got the auto. She did want a moonroof though but when we went to the Pontiac dealer, they didn't have one. I seriously was gunna trade my blue one before i started modding it for a GT but i wasn't thinking for my wife, i was starting to think for myself so i just said screw it. oh well maybe next time. lol
sorry about your knee the brakes are really easy to do, too. i took mine off at around 40,000 miles to see if i needed to replace them, but there was plenty of life left . i probably won't need to think about changing em for another 20 or 30 thousand

interesting. an LS1 in a vibe. I have seen an LS1 in a 240SX, a 300ZX, in the back of a Fiero, and in an rx-7. i wonder if it would make the vibe flip. lol. jk.

I would definitely recommend some sort of cushion for the back for extracurricular activities.I think it would be cool to put an LS7 midship in a Vibe.
hey welcome to the family.i replaced an old 4x4 with the vibe. found out it has about the same amount of storage as my rodeo did. so i can still haul all my climbing gear and stuff with no problem. and its a comfortable car to sit in.the engine is peppy. yeah i know. a guy saying an engine is 'peppy' ... but it is. its not slow, but its not a power house either. some of us have modded for a little more power.you'll love it.

Welcome it's nice to see some more girls on here!!! Not that I don't like the company of man I love my vibe cause the price, the mpg, and the low ins. Oh and the room in the rear is nice to lay down and **** nap I mean nap!! what I don't like hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmI think I need a minute.

Welcome! It gets great gas mileage, you can haul an insane amount of stuff in it. I chose it for my Mom because it's easy to drive and park; I had to have one myself-with my small home business and future family in mind. The only thing I don't like is the wimpy horn, which I'm going to turn into a macho horn very soon...it will be my first mod!
Welcome aboard! My favorite thing about my Vibe is the utility. Plenty of room for both stuff and for people. Easy to get things in and out of.My least favorite thing about my Vibe is the same as folks have voiced above. I definitely wouldn't complain about a bit more get up and go from the motor.

Welcome Peachy! The Vibe is the best car I have ever owned by far. It's got it all! Good gas mileage (certainly important with today's gas prices), flexibility - roomy enough for 4 adults, or more importantly, with the seats folded down, the hauling capacity of a small pickup. I have fit things like dishwashers, lawnmowers, and gas grills in mine - stuff I wouldn't dream of fitting into a regular sedan. Even had the front passenger seat folded down once to bring home a 12 foot ladder with ease. Combine these with the reliability of a Toyota (it is as I call it a Toyota in Pontiac's clothing), and it's one great little car! I wish it had a little more pep, but other than merging onto the highway, does one REALLY need it?
