AWD reliability

Post by nhawd »

Hope to get a 04 AWD Vibe. Heard the AWD system is trusted Toyota's. Is it the old one that was in the Corolla AWD wagon? How reliable is it? We would like a loaded Vibe, including 16" aluminum wheels. What are chances of finding one w/side airbags as above without ordering? Need by current end of lease mid Nov. Thanks. nhawd

I've had my AWD for almost a year and no problems as yet. We had a pretty heavy snow winter and I live out on an acreage (with rather infrequent snow plowing) and the Viber performed wonderfully. My dealer had a GT on his lot when I went looking and managed to trade for an AWD from another city. Because I wanted AWD and there were very few Vibes at all around I had to take what I could get which was loaded (16" aluminum, security, 6pack CD, sunroof, side air bags). I'm glad I got all that stuff in hindsight, I'm really happy with it.

i have only had mine since january, but it has done excellent on ice and what snow we did have!! heaters are good at below 0 temps and it does better on the ice than our suburban/k-5 blazer/s-15 4wds with winter tires!!! alot better gas mileage too! have had no issues w/awd performance or with car overall.....screwed together pretty good!
