Went to the Columbus Auto Show tonight expecting to inspect and get some info on the '09 Vibe The ONLY Vibe they had was locked and no window sticker or other info. The lady at the Pontiac booth said that was because it was a preproduction model. There were three "Corolla Matrix" vehicles on the floor - all open and with window stickers. I know that Columbus, OH is a cow town out in the sticks sort of but you would think they could bring in one VIBE for the show that costs $8 at the gate to get in.For anyone wanted a look at a G8 there was one on a platform - look but don't touch or get too close.I have a few more observations on the auto show that I will post separately in the "others" category.

it was pretty much the same up here in toronto when we had the auto show, they had 1 matrix and 1 vibe..both unlocked though and sticker prices and all.
I went to the show today. The Vibe there just reinforced my opinions that the new '09 Vibe is a hideous mistake. The matrix that was there was actually pretty sharp compared to the Vibe. And yes, I was extremely dissappointed that I wasn't able to sit in the G8 GT (hopefully my next car). Oh well. These two mishaps made the Pontiac area the least populated in the entire convention center.
Three of us at the Columbus Auto show at the same time, we should have had a meet. I also was disappointed that the Vibe was locked, but I realized I had sat in one already (the Matrix). My overall observation from the show is that the gas mileage of all the cars overall was crap even accounting for the new rating. Most of the econoboxes were in the low 20s. Also, I have been reading that Pontiac is on the bubble, it was intended to be the performance division, but with the new mileage standards, V-8s will soon be out for passenger cars, and Pontiac would no longer have a mission. It would not be a surprise if Pontiac went the way of Olds and Plymouth.
The Corolla Matrix models on the floor included a base Automatic (ac standard) $17,000, Cruise Control $250, Power Option Pkg (Power windows and door locks, keyless remote entry) $1,020, Floor mats and cargo mat, $199 Destination Charge $660. The Matrix 2.4L automatic was $19,450 plus options and destiantion. The Matrix XRS 2.4L manual was $20,660 plus options and destination. There is an all weather guard package that includes rear heater ducts, heated mirrors, and rear intermittant wiper $330.The sticker referred to A/C witrh clean air filter.I also noted that the climate controls (the 3 round ones below the radio) were the same in the Matrix, Rav4 and Scion.
