Hi folks . . I'm working on setting my '07 Vibe up to tow behind our Motorhome. I'm adding a remote braking sensor that requires me to tap into the cold brake wire (the one that only gets power when the brake pedal is pressed). I can certainly see all the wires going into the housing for the brake pedal sensor (okay . . it's a plastic button but sensor sounds so much more techie). The problem is I can't get to an exposed connection to test them. Anyone know which wire is the cold wire? Or have a wiring diagram for the brakelights/lighting? I did a search and found LOTS of wiring info on the audio system but nothing I could see on the tail lights. I need to look around more but also . . is there a way to remove the bottom half of the dash housing . . the part that starts at the hood release and wraps over and under the steering wheel and over into the center console? Sure would make it easier to do what I need to do if I could get that off. Thanks in advance for any info or advice!Pete

That is a PDF version of the repair manual. That should help you find what you are looking for.then look here for how to remove your lower portion of your dashboardhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9977

after you down load the manual. look for the index file... this file will open up in a browser window. from there click on the links and they will open up in adobe reader. If i knew what the "cold" brake line is i would look it up and post the page. I am guessing your looking to wire in a brake boster. or to have the brake lights light up when you press the brake in the motorhome? correct?

Keith . . the "cold" brake wire is the one that only has power when the brake pedal is pushed down. It effectively causes the brakes lights to go on. For towing I will be using a Blue Ox Apollo supplemental brake. Basically, it sits wedged between the driver's seat and the brake pedal. It has a little air compressor in it that runs off the 12-volt adapter. In a hard-braking situation it uses the compressed air to power an "arm" that pushes the brake pedal. Supplementary to that, I am installing a Blue Ox remote brake indicator. This is the piece that I need to splice into the cold brake wire. It basically lights up in the motorhome when the brake is activated. That way you aren't dragging your toad down the highway at 65 mph with the brakes locked. That would be bad!Got the download! Looks like the green & white wire is the one I want. I thought so. I just needed to be certain before I start splicing into it!
