Went ahead and pulled the trigger myself!!

Post by The Lox »

So two weeks ago we bought my Fiancee a 2007 Vibe. After driving hers, and having driven one in the past on a vacation, I decided I would go ahead and pick one up myself. I have been looking for a new car anyway, and the gas mileage combined with all of the cool stuff I found on this board in the last few weeks convinced me I was ready to get one.So right now my dealer is trying to get me the vehicle I want from another GM dealer. Its an 08 Wave, 5-speed, monotone with the power options, and cruise. I was also considering a Black one with sun and sound, 16" wheels, and the power options, but in the end I knew that modding would get the best of me, and those other features would be a waste except for the sunroof. So regardless of which vibe I end up getting my mod list is already planned out1. Tint2. Upgraded sound system with sirius and a sub, of some sort.3. Shark Fin antaenna4. Center console retrofit with the cig power port.5. Wheels and tires - probably 16s or 17s6. Fog light covers in yellowThats about it for now, I think, we'll see. I plan on getting pics up once I get the car picked up, maybe tomorrow...

I just decided that with the ever rising price of gas, and the probability of kids coming in the next couple years I decided to make the more responsible choice and get the Vibe. Its got enough sport in it and the right combination of 4 door family car to be fun, and exactly what I need.

Well I went and picked up the new Vibe today. I like the 5-speed model better for sure. It shifts very smooth. The only wierd thing is the TPS light is on, all of the tires seem to be fine, but I haven't had a chance to check. I'll take care of it in the morning.I would like a little more TQ, so a couple performance mods may be in order, we'll just have to see.My next mission is to find out what the part number is for the subwoofer panel that is in the back of my fiancee's vibe, so I can buy one and swap in my own aftermarket subwoofer. Boston Acoustics makes some very slim line, low air space needed subs that I think would work perfect. I'll post pics the garage section tomorrow...

glad you got your new baby. time to add the 08 to your sig about the panel for the sub... your best bet would be to check the local junk yards first, you'll save a lot of money that way. i'm pretty sure a matrix one will work too.

Congrats! You may need to reset the tire pressure monitors. It needs to be done after tire rotations and what not. The instructions are in the owner's manual. I do it just rarely enough that I can never remember the entire process myself.

And Here is her Big Brother that is being replaced as my Daily Driver. Its a 99 Ram with the 5.9 V8, Auto Trans, 4wd. It has been a great truck, I have not had to do one thing to it, I bought it off E-bay site unseen and drove it home from Indy. Its going to get a new paint job with a rollpan and some other new options once I get my garage cleaned out.

I'll take care of it in the morning...Don't be surprised if the tire pressure reads something over 40 psi (at least that was the tire pressure when I first checked my Vibe's tire pressure when new). Follow the correct procedure when resetting the TPMS light. Otherwise it will keep coming on after you drive awhile. Also I was wondering if Brunhilda was still installing the OEM Oil Filters on Vibes

I plan on doing both the fogs and the sharkfin. I have sirius radio, so the shark fin is mostly just for looks to cover up the stock antaenna.I have been looking for some gold/bronze wheels, to follow the Subie look, but I haven't found too many options...
