Now I've done it!

Post by damronjr »

OK, well it all starts with our tax returns. We decided that since we got back almost exactly what we still owed on the Vibe we would pay it off, thus allowing us $550/mo to help pay off other bills. So, we did just that, and the Vibe is now MINE! Mwahahahaha! So, since our 2002 Dodge Ram is aging poorly and starting to fall apart, we also decided that we would sell it/trade it in and get a newer car. We started looking at and loved the new Mustang GT, but back seat space is very limited, even for my 3yo son! We started looking at info online and in the new Consumer Reports buyers guide for a new sedan, had our choices down to the new Malibu, Camry, Avenger, Altima, Lancer, and Accord. We got approved through my bank for a loan so we decided to start looking, but we also needed to decide what to do with the truck as we are a little upside down on it (about $3k), and we wanted to check with her bank to see if we could get a better APR.Today we were supposed to go to a bunch of dealerships and look around to decide what we really wanted. We walked out the door saying we weren't going to buy anything as we hadn't even picked up the loan check yet, we drove my dually so we didn't have the trade-in with us, and we wanted to make sure we got to see everything before we decided.Well, about 3-4hrs into our first dealership we drove away with a new car! She loved it, I loved it, it had everything we wanted and more, and we got better financing through them than my bank at least (we haven't heard back from hers yet, supposed to be Monday). I told her if we liked it, it had everything we wanted, and was in the price-range we wanted, as long as she wouldn't regret not looking at the other cars we wanted to see we could take it. She said yes as it is really her car, and it was her birthday 2 days ago, so we got it! Now we still have 2 payments, we didn't trade in the truck, so now we have to try to get rid of it ourselves, which is fine, but wasn't exactly the plan! Oh well, at least I get to drive something a LITTLE more fuel efficient than my 454 dually to work until it is gone! Anybody want a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT with 22" rims, chrome everything, Alpine deck, and Infinity speakers? lolPics to come!
