Hi Everyone,I've been pulling hair trying to figure out the best way to use an iPod with custom controls, etc AND be able to use a regular auxiliary input. Didn't want to leave a hole in my double din dash with an after market single din, and I haven't been impressed with any of the double dins (especially the poor interfaces).A second concern was theft in downtown Atlanta, so I think modifying the factory HU is the best approach. All that said, I found this wonder, the PIE GM12-POD/S iPod and Auxilary Input Adapter. It claims it can display all your iPod info on your factory HU and be able to go scroll through things like playlist, artist, genre, etc. Granted, you have to memorize some somewhat tricky button moves, but overall it's the best thing I've seen. In addition, you can switch control back to the iPod (scroll wheel etc) or switch to any other aux device (friends mp3 who don't do iPod).http://www.discountcarstereo.c...=1092The problem is, it doesn't say it works on the Pontiac Vibe on this website. However, on this site it does:
http://www.autotoys.com/x/prod...10214On the manufacturer's site it doesn't specifically specify.I have a "(B2) 2004 single CD (w/ BAND button and CD/AUX button) and Moon & Tunes" so I know the PIE GM12-AUX should work.I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have experience with this adapter, or know more about what makes these things compatible with GM head units?? (Class II, no LAN, etc...)Thanks!
