2003 vibe 80k miles, runs great no misfire or performance symptoms. yet have had chek light for thousands of miles, do code interorgate always same number 2 misfire. reset code and fairly soon returns to chek engine again. tried all new plugs and swapping cyl 1 & 2 IGNITORS. Dealer suggested some wiz bang $150 injector flush but because i do not trust this dealer thought i would check forum. seems like this misfire is rather common and very annoying because i am concerned this chek may mask something i shuold really be concerned about. the ODB sites make the injector cleaning at least seem like worthy to try. i will report back if the injector clean works, would like to hear any other solutions that may have worked also.
well if you have swapped out injectors, plugs and the missfire remains... I'd try the injector flush. You could have some carbon build up in the system. Injector service is a good tune up tool. I sell them all the time. I've also seen them correct a missfire.

yes i solved my problem after some time, i had previously tried several majjor brand injector cleaners to add to gas tank with no luck. doing research i found the npr car talk guys specifically recommended two brands as being superior for this cleaning, one being TECHRON. got this brand from auto parts store, it comes in two sizes one for 12 gal other i think for 22 gal treatment. since vibe tank is 14 i was hoping to get larger bottle for stronger solution mix but they wrere out. so i went with the 12 gal size and made sure i only had 10 gal gas in tank. then i ran till tank was almost empty for max effect of the mixture. cleared the codes, did a drive reset and just keep driving code free since. thihnk i put couple thousand miles plain gas after reset then did another TECHRON mix. plan to just keep doing the TECHRON therapy at least cople times a year if that solves the issue. hope this is helpful to others having same annoyance.
