It's tax time!

well i got my T4 slip today from work and filed it tonight when i got in...it seems that i'll be paying off my CC easily with this..getting about $1500 back from the government..so im stoked..pay off my cc..start to save up for rims/springs for the summer..and with my birthday coming up it'll help aswell..yay for me..anyone else do their taxes yet??

I am still waiting for my last T4. Since I changed jobs mid year for a much higher paying job, I expect to get a few thousand back as I was taxed at the higher rate, but only made half that because of the switch. I did it roughly online and it was a nice chunk of change. Plus I put a few thousand into RRSPs which helps too! maybe I will be able to pay off my credit card.

ya thats the only thing thats killin me..is the credit card..i only had 1 job during 2007..which is still my current..i knew i was getting back some money cause every paycheck i was paying about 50-100 extra in tax compared to a friend who works the same amount of hours and pay

I use quicktaxweb.ca and netfile to file... moola in 2 weeks tops!

I used TurboTax.com and got my refund back in 8 days. All $3200.

Still waiting for my T4's to show up. Although I'm in the same boat as Sputnik, so I'm happy about it. Not to mention a 2k bonus at work at the end of the month!

The fiancee and I maximized...getting a pretty sweet refund. Hello new fence, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and savings.When is the Canadian tax day? We got our W-2's by the end of January (same thing as your T4s) but financial institutions like Morgan Stanley don't have to send the 1099s until Feb 14th...go figure.Anyways, I love tax time, but the responsible individual in us would add it up and get $0 back and owe $0. If we would have it would have been more than an extra $500 a month. I'm prone to spend it so I'll let Uncle Sam borrow it interest free.

That way you could earn interest on the amount you should be paying into taxes for a year, instead of uncle sam earning it(or Stephen Harper - why don't we canucks have an uncle sam equivalent?).

A friend of mine is an accountant so i watched her 2 kids for free a while around the holidays adn shes gonna help me with mine on Sunday. Ar HRblock.com the tax predictor said I should get back 1200... that would be nice, but we will see, it was high on a friend of mine's so I dunno how accurate it is.

Aha! Canada is midnight april 30th. Although technically, if you don't owe anything to [insert Canadian equivalent of uncle sam here] you don't have to file... although I always found that odd.

the website i used for free last year was thishttp://www.intuit.ca/en/intuit/index.jsp and then this year used the same site for free since i signed up last year and didnt have to pay again..so it was nice..hopefully get the refund in under 2 weeks and finally have my CC payed off..

If you make over a certain amount you have to pay to use the website for taxes.

well either or..im gettin a crap load back which is nice..highest i've ever gotten back..before it used to be like 300-400..now it's like 5 times more which is just sweet..

Not yet...as always, waiting on my mom...ours is complicated because of the mortgage, so we pay someone to do it.

my father filed it for me...i think he said i got about $950 back..give or take some......wish it was more..but i only work 3 days a week...
