MWR Monkey Wrench Racing

Post by ITTRay »

Hey Everyone. I did a search and couldn't find a thread on MWR's performance Mods for the vvti. I thought I would start one to get a discussion going about their products. Here are some Engine Packages: http://monkeywrenchracing.com/....htmlPistons: http://monkeywrenchracing.com/....htmlR ... ...htmlBig Bore kit for 1.8 to 2.0:http://monkeywrenchracing.com/....htmlS ... ...htmlHas anyone installed any of these mods? Bought an engine from them? Let us know!!

Kev- I have the 5-speed. Have you driven one? I see you have an auto. I have heard that the 5-speed gets more power to the wheels. I test drove an auto and the 5, I thought the 5-sp was a little quicker.

Should have firmed up those shifts for you as well.

In most cases, but I'm supercharged.I haven't driven one,but I've raced a few. It's not as fast as my Chevelle, but just as fun.Quote, originally posted by AKLGT »Kev, you did the VB mod too right? It drives much better now, launches hard and no harsh 2-3 shift anymore. But I went with level 10 for my VB.It was a good learning experience replacing my TQ converter and VB.

I was 16 and probably would have killed myself. But,I still have my LS6 now, just with the turbo 400.I really miss the 70,but I settled on a 72.I've had this one for 15 years now,not finished but getting close.

I bought my chevelle for 800 bucks when i was 15 yrs old. I have come close a few time to wrecking it, but thankfully i havent. Yeah, the 70' is the one to have, I think it looks alot better in the front. I cloned mine. SS interior tach and guages bucket seats and consol. I only have a 350ci/350turbo in it now. I have the M22 but not a big block yet. I will be saving to boost the 350 and put the 4-speed in all at the same time. Im undecided whether I should s/c or turbo. Turbo would be more impressive I think. I have a Stock SS working cowl induction hood that I cant mess with so I'm not going to put a s/c on it that would required hood modification. But before all of this, I HAVE TO UPGRADE THE BRAKES!! Im still running 4 drums!!! Ah, I hate it. I cant brake straight if my life depended on it. Got some photos of your chevelle?

I won't have any pics till it warms up,too much snow up here and a garage full of junk.I'm old school, that's why I s/ced the Vibe.I still have to rebuild the front end and finish up my interior.I rebuilt the LS6 about 6 years ago,and built up the turbo 400 with a new torque converter and manual valve body,So I can keep up the 4 speeds.I like the 70's but between the 71 and 72,I like the 72 grille better. There's a member on here,DJB383,he builds small block strokers,he would be a good guy to chat with.
