Low Beam gremlins

Post by pmarte »

My low beams (both) no longer work, but the high beams do. I checked the fuses under the hood and all are intact. Is it possible that the bulbs are faulty?

Try a stock bulb. They'll likely work.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

ok, seeing as how you have gremlins mentioned in the title, is this happening a lot? is it happening frequently? if this is your first time having this happen, just replace the bulbs.this has been mentioned a few times, but your bulbs have 2 filaments in them, one for the low, normal light and another for the high beams. the reason the low doesn't work and the high does is because the low is used more often, and i usually the high beams aren't. just replace the bulbs. go stock or get something else if you wish. if you have this trouble again then start checking to see if any thing is shorting out, having too much current running though it, or other problems.
None. Vibe is gone.

I tried a spare bulb and it worked...the lows can burn out independently of the highs...simultaneously!Who woulda thunk

Get yourself some dielectric grease to, ANY electrical connection will benefit from a little bit of dielectric grease... It keeps them from "drying" out... make better long term connection, that shouldn't corrode
