Mid wing Installed Finally

Post by Bocaj77 »

I finally got it on. It took about an hour not much to it.

Looks good. The only concern I would have with the midspoiler is how it will stand up to vibration from repeated opening and closing of the liftgate.

The spoiler is not so bad. But your Vibe seems to be in an identity crisis. A Pontiac Vibe GT-S, tuned by TRD... Ok most of the car is Toyota but it sounds weard

The wing bolts on with 6 bolts so I dont think U will have N E problems with it coming loose. And I get alot of questions about the TRD & GTS emblems. It has the TRD Exhaust and the Toyota Celica GTS engine so why cant I have them on there????

It is your car, it is your taste and you do what you want with it. i just geve my opinion. And, as the Vibe and the Celica GT have the same engine but a diiferent ECU, should I put a GT decal on mine???

I have TRD logos on my Vibe GT as well. I've had a few people ask since it says Toyota. Only the few people that don't know the Matrix and Vibe are the same. I even have chrome TRD license plates. Since TRD works in conjunction with GM on a lot of the aftermarket performance parts, I don't think it really matters. I haven't seen many extras or emblems GM has come out with for tuning or modifying our Vibes. No different than adding an HKS, AEM, or Injen sticker, right? hence the name TRDvibe

I understand your point, and I was not trying to offend anyone or start flaming.I was only a little bit sarcastic. My point is it looks a little strange to have Toyota brand on a GM product (even if most of the car is built by Toyota).

quote:I just thought the big bold stripe down the side and the red lettering on the hatch was a lttle too busy.I have to agree with you there but to each his own. What's wrong with a TRD sticker on a Vibe? I had one on my Civic. J/K. If he has TRD parts than he has every right to have a TRD sticker. As for the GTS, I think that's pushing it a little but as I said before, to each his own.

Looks good. Now do us all a favor... drive down a dusty gravel road for a dozen or so miles. Then see if the spoiler actually helped wind flow over the car any by upseting the vortex that usually forms at the rear drawing dust up to stick on the rear window and tailgate.Curious minds want to know.KSNeptune

Looks Great! Any pictures of the rest of your car? Interested in seeing what the rest of that big red stripe on the side looks like.As for the nameplate questions everybody are throwing around ... I don't care what you call YOUR car. But I have never understood why Toyota couldn't have come up with something better than "TRD" ... who wants to be driving around in a "turd"?

OK and how much is Pontiac paying you for that Pontiac advertisement? How about that Nike swish on your shoes, or Levi's tab and stitching on your blue jeans, etc, etc. It's almost impossible to not advertise for free for somebody these days. Just the same I agree with your point.

did it come w/ a template for the holes or did you "eye-ball'm". Was it one drill bit/hole or did they have you drill pilot hole and enlarge them? FYI: My old Subie wing was a pain to install, it had a cable that secured it to the trunk (e.g huge hole!). I was just waiting for that drill to skip along that aluminum trunck lid (thankfully it all went well).I'm ordering my kit tonight! (though I don't think Im gonna install the top wing).

I love the car, but one thing. All the mods, but you still got the cross-members on the roof rack. Please ditch them. Besides that though the wing looks great, and those Enkei's are beautiful.

Your car WOULD be one of the cleanest I've seen, minus the 50 lbs. of stickers and nonsense badging. But hey, to each his own...I just don't get it...
