Removing door trim?

Post by Petrucci914 »

Hello,The trim that is on my door (that is supposed to protect the car if a door bangs into it) is all scratched up. Can I remove all this trim off the car and have it look much sleeker? Is it only held on by adhesive or is there some holes behind it? Thanks!

It is held on by glue/tape and clips... there are holes behind it, so I wouldn't suggest taking it off.

Wave, he actually found holes behind the door. The determination was that the front doors had the holes, the rear holes did not.

wonder why they'd drilled in on the front doors, but double sided taped on the backs..you'd think they would just use double sided tape for both the front and the back doors

They probably have them there just for locating the trim. The back one is located based on the front position, but the pin holes (and pins in the trim) locate the specific location it belongs.

I'm glad I didn't take these off yet, and now probably won't.
