ok i decided to post pics, here's the blue fender squier bulletthen the red slammer by hammerand finally the J&D EG3 one which is brand new from a company
they are all just strat copy's, i would stick with the squier but im sure they will all sound about the same....i have a fender american series strat, an ibanez s470L, and a washburn acoustic electric...ive been playing since i was in 5th grade just make sure that when you buy it, bring it to a good music shop and tell them you need it set up ...trust me, if your string heights are all jacked up, you have screwed up intonation, and you have buzz on half your frets you will never learn because you will think you are screwing everything up! it shouldnt cost that much...if you are buying it from a music shop they should do it for you, also you should get some new strings...looking at the lowest three strings, they have some oxidation on them...dont worry strings are like under 5 bucks, i would recommend ernie ball super slinkys, they should be pink, these are good to start with, nice and soft, easy to bend...just have them put them on when you have it set upenough info? if you have more questions im me oh also, if you are looking for a decent, cheap guitar check out this site, http://www.rondomusic.com/electricguitar.html they make copys of much nicer guitars for really cheaphere is a nice looking knock off gibson for 130 --> http://www.rondomusic.com/gg1bobk.html

awesome, thanks for the long reply lol, gonna have to research about all of this..so basically all of the ones i posted up are replicas of the strat...to me it doesnt matter if they're replicas or not, and as u said they will sound all about the same...it's tough, lol, i've only gotten a reply from the guy who owns the red slammer one, and he's only used it maybe 5 times, he bought it but just couldnt get into it and just wants to sell it...but thanks for the awesome reply wyatt
hey no problem, guitars are fun! if you can stick with it, its something really fun to do, i play a lot during the winter because its too cold to go out. the squire isnt technicially a copy since it is made by fender...the others are but i doubt you would be able to tell the difference...maybe once you get into it you will...if it comes down to it get the one that looks the best to you, you will take better care of it if it looks good my ibanez has nicks and crap all over it but thats because i use it the most, i got it for 200 bucks at a pawn shop that didnt know what they were selling...it was collecting dust since it was left handed...one of the good things of being a lefty, they dont make 3/4 of the models left handed though like i said, hit me up if you want info or an opinion on something!

alright, thanks, it's between the slammer and the squire, just gotta hear back from the guy about the squire..but if not im gonna pick up the slammer this friday..besides i love the red
awesome, well i think im gonna be going with the fender one instead of the slammer, seems more reasonable for me, and cant complain about it being $100...now whats the difference between the one i'll be getting and an acoustic version??
Most guitars will sound very similar until you get into the mid-price range. For learning on, any of those would work great. I have a full size violin that I need to sell or trade for a full size cello if anyone knows anyone.

lol..no..not yet..still looking..hopefully soon, dropped off about 15 resumes the other week and called about 5 others..so hopefully hear something soon
good choice, the squire will serve you well, im sure of it! just make sure everything works before you buy it, check the volume, tone, and pickup selector knobs to see if they function, they will probably make a bit of noise since its a lower end guitar but as long as they work, thats what matters!

ya..i was on that ultimate guitar site and was reading up that the squier is an excellent beginners guitar, so im glad i chose that one..also one i read it i knew thats the one i was gonna go with
lol, ya i wish i could afford that whelan, but thats way outta my league...but im picking up the guitar/amp tomorrow when i sell my one bike..so im stoked for this, i was talkin alot with a buddy(the guy in the band) and he was telling me pretty much all the basics
yep, i love it, picked it up last night, been trying to play but i dont know what im doing lol, so im jus figuring things out first and then going from there
Sweet dude. It might take a while to learn, so try not to get frustrated. I am self taught, and it took me a long time to get to where I am now. I know that there were countless times where I felt like just giving up. Keep at it, and you will really start to love it.
yea, once i get abit more done, hopefully my buddies can give me some lessons, but so far im getting abit of the hang of it, like i said can do the beginning of the song, but not quick enough to actually sound like the song it self, soon enough though..my goal is to learn a few songs by the end of the summer
