Wierd metal connector/terminal on corner of air filter box

Post by Courtney_Hook »

Having just purchased this used 2003 base model Vibe, I was under the hood checking on what type of maintainence had been done. I noticed that directly behind, and right in line with the pos terminal of the battery is a strange metal connector with a round hole type of top, sitting in the airfilter box top.It looks like something should have been screwed into it, but there is nothing that is around there. It is just sitting in the corner of the filter top. It serves no useful purpose that I can see. Does anyone else have this sitting there doing nothing? It is NOT one of the hold down clips.

pic?if memory serves me correctly, it *might* be where they screwed a support wire for the cruise control module...but it's been so long since i've been under the hood of a vibe i can't remember for sure. a pic would help.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

This is an old pic, but mine has the support wire for the cable throttle, as raginfish noted.
