Burnt out stereo lights...

Post by rlkrug »

The majority of the bulbs are burnt out on my 2005 stereo.... my husband the electrical engineer put in some LEDs to replace the bulbs (longer life, cooler display). Well they aren't bright enough... can anyone tell me what type LEDs they used??? And I guess some of you didn't understand when I said what they used... I didn't mean Pontiac... I meant if any of you replaced yours with LEDs by chance, what did you use...

They didn't use LEDs...I thought the stereo was backlit with bulbs. Seeing how I haven't solved this, I'm only 50/50 on this (meaning there's a 50% chance they were bulbs and a 50% they were LEDs )

my way to fix it is to buy a new deck, aftermarket, so u can get more power, and play mp3's and possibly get one with an aux outlet for an mp3/ipod player..just something i would do, did it when my sunfires deck crapped out on me
