I have to believe I'd like the increased visibility, but I like the look of the all red a little better. So here's the question, and I doubt it will happen, but what are the chances that cluster would be interchangable with the old one. Might we somehow be able to aquire the new look for our old Vibes?
quote:Sorry for being OT. This is to show the new orange color. What do you mean OT? Look again at the subject it says "New color"! quote: I really like the GA SCT hood scoops - too bad something like that wasn't available for the Vibe. And, yes, I've seen the SLP Ram Air hood. It's better than the SCT because it's functional but I don't like the scoop styling near as well as the SCT hood. The SLP scoops just say "Camaro" to me instead of saying "Pontiac".

Ahh, well good to have that info. Sorry you had to find out the hard way. I think I agree. It might be nice to have the visibility, but I'm thinking of quite a few things I need more than that for $500. Oh well, maybe when I pay my current Vibe off...
quote:The new ones do not have price stickers on them, so they are 2004s.You are probably correct, but the only way to know for sure is to look at the VIN plate. Our 2003 Vibes all have '3Z' before the last six digits. A 2004 model will have '4Z' in the same location.

Well, that tends to be the trend with new models...the first year owners are guinea pigs...they give the company feedback, and everything that is truly hated is fixed...The new gauges are more pontiac-like...I like 'em...maybe we can find them on ebay cheaper...lol

I dunno, I like the sport package look, but seeing a closeup on that top spoiler kinda grossed me out...Didn't like it so much...I guess I'm one of the few that likes the mid spoiler...

I edited my post because I cut and pasted the wrong quote I was answering. You still didn't answer my question. What do you mean when you said:quote:Question for ya, are you going to put this in every post like you did a few months ago when you were saying your car experience is only adequate and such? I looked online...they have the new color under "build your own" but they don't have a color for it, and it replaces envy (when you click it, envy shows up, and it says invalid color)...but clearly, envy is out, and the new orange is in...

I just saw a 'so-called' Orange Fusion base Vibe on the local Pontiac lot today, but it was locked in a barbed wire fence thickly among other newly arrived inventory. I had the digital camera with me hoping to get a shot, but no dice.I am going to try to get up there this week to get a good look. This dealer had a pretty good looking display on the corner of their lot with 2 Aztek's and 2 '04 Grand Prix' in the Orange color... it was a real attention getter, and I must admit, I'm fancy to the color after seeing it in person.
quote:The new ones do not have price stickers on them, so they are 2004s.Oh, really? Were you there reading the window stickers (they did have them) like I was? They were 2003's. I saw the window stickers.Didn't have to be there. Your excellent pictures show that the new cars coming off the truck didn't have window price stickers. They had the property of GM stickers, just like the Fusion Orange 2004 Vibe in Jethro's post. So the 5 silver Vibes from the truck are 2004s.

THE NEW NAME IS ORANGE SUNBURST. All others colors had their own name 'cause originally GM made a contest with peoples on the street to find a specific name for each colors. So for this new color the marketing department simply named it SUNBURST.
quote:Maybe Jethro would be able to find that Vibe when they put the window sticker on and find out the color name on it? Otherwise I am going to call the dealer on Tuesday. That transport was leaving town with just the orange Vibe left on it and the next Pontiac dealer in the direction he was heading is over 80 miles away. My guess is another one will show up somewhere else before I am running that direction again. No guarantee that it even went to that 'next closest dealer' but I do frquently swing through their lot on my way if I have time - and you can bet I'll make time on my next trip in about two weeks!Be sure to let us know what news your dealer provides!

If I was ordering one now, that would definately be the color I would get. I love that color! I still love my Neptune though. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Not even that cool color.

quote:Here are 2 of the 3 base Vibes off the truck. There is also a visual way to tell the 2004s with two-tone. The lower rocker panel sticks out from the car and not curved under like the 2003s or the 2004s with monotone. (based on the great phots from Jethro & Nova). Must have redesigned the rocker to cut down on the road debris damage to the rear moldings.
quote:I like the new dash. The new dash looks alright, but I have to say that I like the all red dash a little better. It doesn't look so busy but it is very pleasing to look at. It will be good for those who said the original was hard to see though.

quote:In the 2004 Vibe, ask to look under the hood and check what battery Pontiac is putting in them....is it a 560CCA (like the one that GM agreed to put in mine)???Also take a closer look at the cladding.... does it look like it would prevent the road debris more????Will call and check on the battery. Car I saw was locked so couldn't get under hood.Look at the picture that Nova provided us, I copied it just above in another post. The rocker panel molding has been extended out away from the car, so it should block debris from hitting the rear wheel opennings. (Don't know how this will effect the sport package.) Plus the bulletin that has been posted on site has revised part numbers as I recall, so they may have changed the finish to be more resistant to road debris.
quote:they may have changed the finish to be more resistant to road debris.Highly doubtful. My Sunfire had similar paint problems -- ANYTHING would leave a mark...not expecting that to change in just 2 model years...

LOL, my guess is similar to the desert sand mica that they dropped on the Matrix (I think I remember reading that they dropped it...) Its like a light tan. UGLY!!!!!! and very BLAH

I never noticed the different rockers when I looked at the pictures.Wish my Frosty Monotone had rockers like that - it would sure seem that would cut down on the rock chips on the sides as well as the tar.I have never driven my Vibe on gravel roads but I finally gave in and installed mud flaps this past weekend to help save the sides of my car.
Great work Jethro!! I did see one on 75 today also (on a car hauler) and yes it does look much better in person. The metalic shows up a lot better in person.
To those that have seen the '04 vibe firsthand and are familiar with the '03, could you describe what you see that has changed? (besides the new colors, instrument cluster lights and rocker panels already mentioned).Other threads on this site had a rumored list of changes for '04 and I'm curious if those changes are actually going to happen.Looking at the photos just posted it looks like the exterior is largely unchanged. Still curious about interior and improvements from '03 complaints (paint, battery, etc.).These were some of the changes mentioned elsewhere: New sunvisor with an extender New fabric 17" All season tires Liquid silver alloy wheels Battery rundown protection Subwoofer (7th speaker)
