New Vibe Owner

Post by prescoan »

Hey everyone!Just bought an '05 Vibe, manual, 1.8L, stock, and am wondering... what's the various opinions on what to upgrade first? Not looking to spend too much cash, but compared to my '97 2.0L VW Golf, (with 304,000kms on it) it sure could use a couple more horses.Looking for best dollar/hp upgrade, maybe $100-200 in cost. Oh yea, already planning on a K&N filter that should give me a 4-5hp boost, so need other ideas.

Welcome to GenVibe! A K&N drop-in filter will only give you abour 1-2hp. You won't notice it at all. I would recommend looking at the Poor Man's Performance Mod Guide: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=24144Also, if you were to go with a drop-in filter I would get the aFe Pro Dry-S for $35+/- on Ebay (listed for the matrix and corolla).Good luck and get some pics up when you can.

Congratulations...If I get another Vibe, it will be a manual. I parted with my Vibe for financial reasons and ended up with an '02 Protege. The Protege is decent, but near as fun to drive. Good luck with the car; you made a good choice.
